Obviously, they’re implying that right-wing folks are the over-organized and All-American folk, while liberals are supposedly open-minded and eclectic. Hardly the first people to draw an association between political party and personality. *eye-roll* Not sure how this is even scientific.

There’s too much overlap, people who fit a mix of qualities characterized by these two extremes. Most people, as I learned in Psychology 101, lie in the middle on a continuum for the Big 5 personality traits.

I like to keep things organized and have a shameless affinity for calendars. Yet, I love art, music, and other forms of self-expression as much as any other leftie hipster does. I suppose that reflects my political moderateness (economic conservative, social liberal…I know this is a false ideal that does not exist in the real world…whatever). But I imagine this mix of personal qualities can be found in even the extremes of the political continuum.

Beauty routine for a naturally flawless look

Face wash: Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash ($24 at Sephora)
Shampoo: TRESemme 24 Hour Body Healthy Volume Shampoo ($4 at Walgreens)
Body lotion: Aveeno Positively Ageless Moisturizer ($9 at CVS)
Facial lotion: Loreal Futur-e Moisturizer, ($10 at Walgreens) or if you’re feeling spendy, Sephora’s Instant Moisturizer ($20)
Concealer: Revlon Colorstay Concealer, Fair ($5 at Amazon)
Foundation: Mineral Sheers Loose Powder Foundation, Natural Beige ($10 at Walmart)
Mascara: Okay, I have a pretty shitty $2 Wet n’ Wild Mega Plump Mascara that I would not recommend. But, it’s the only one I have and it does the job. Whenever that runs out, I’ll go to Maybelline. But let’s be real, I rarely use mascara. Too much of a hassle to remove.
Eye shadow: Maybelline Chai Latte Quad ($4.50 on Amazon)

Everyday look: Au natural
For when I want to look good: Concealer + Foundation
For a special occasion: Everything

Video

This is exactly how hair salons in Shanghai are. It’s intimidating when you’re an American-Chinese girl who speaks zero Mandarin, trying to tell the salon worker how you want your hair cut.
